Mothering the Mother

Last updated: 28 August 2026

Mothering the Mother provides education and wellness support relating to motherhood, postpartum preparation, Ayurveda, nutrition, herbs, traditional postpartum practices and maternal wellbeing.

Our content is intended for educational and informational purposes only.

It is not medical advice and does not replace care from a qualified healthcare professional.

POSTPARTUM AND MATERNAL HEALTH

Pregnancy, birth and postpartum are individual experiences.

Information provided through Mothering the Mother should not be used to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent a medical condition.

If you have concerns about your health or your baby's health, contact an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

This is particularly important if you experience:

  • Heavy or unexpected bleeding

  • Severe or worsening pain

  • Fever

  • Signs of infection

  • Severe headache or visual changes

  • Chest pain or difficulty breathing

  • Severe emotional distress

  • Thoughts of harming yourself or your baby

  • Any other symptoms that concern you

Seek urgent medical attention where appropriate.

AYURVEDA AND TRADITIONAL WISDOM

Mothering the Mother draws inspiration from Ayurvedic and traditional postpartum wisdom.

References to traditional practices, including the traditional understanding of the first 42 days after birth, are presented as educational and cultural information.

Traditional beliefs about postpartum care should not be interpreted as guarantees of a particular health outcome.

HERBS AND NUTRITION

Herbal, nutritional and dietary information is educational and does not constitute individual medical advice.

Herbs and supplements may interact with medication or may not be suitable for everyone.

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, have a medical condition, have allergies or have any concern about a particular herb or supplement, seek appropriate professional advice before using it.

BODYWORK

Any bodywork, movement or self-care practices shared through Mothering the Mother should be approached according to your own circumstances and abilities.

Where appropriate, seek guidance from a suitably qualified practitioner.

THE MOTHER’S NEST

The Mother's Nest is an educational postpartum preparation programme.

Creating a postpartum plan can help you think intentionally about your needs and support, but no course can guarantee a particular postpartum experience or outcome.

Your plan should complement — not replace — appropriate medical and professional care.

1:1 SUPPORT

1:1 postpartum planning is educational and supportive.

It does not constitute:

  • Medical treatment

  • Midwifery care

  • Diagnosis

  • Psychotherapy

  • Emergency care

  • Prescribing

  • Individual medical treatment

You remain responsible for seeking appropriate professional healthcare.

Always read the individual product label and instructions before use.

Do not use a product if you are allergic or sensitive to any ingredient.
